Wireless Router/Print Server combo

I'm planning to network my cable modem into my desktop (XP Home) and my wife's laptop (Win98SE). I'd like to get a wireless router/print server so that my wife can both surf and print from her laptop. The printer is an HPd130 multifunction printer.

1. Can I keep my hardwire connection between my desktop and router?

2. Will the printer need to be hardwired to the router/server combo (via USB, I assume)?

What else do I need to consider for purchasing hardware?
