Hiya,

Well, since a few days ago my internet has been pretty bad with Comcast. Basically, our service was down and not working at all. This was Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. Monday it was working fine, then Tuesday morning it wasn't work, Tuesday night it was working, then Wednesday morning it wasn't working. So I go call Comcast and they checked their stuff and asked if my modem lights were on; they were and it said online, but our service was still down. So then I decided to unplug my router for a minute then plug it back in...boom it worked. Then this morning it was down again. The router is in my roomates room, so I don't have access to it if he is not home or if he is sleeping (which he was in the morning). I should of thought about the router earlier, but I wasn't even thinking about it much and I was out a lot.

The Comcast guy also did check to see if our modem was giving problems, and he said in the last few days I was online and everything was working correctly at his end.

So do you think our router is giving us some trouble and it is time to buy a new one? We are using a Belkin, but I forget the model number.

Thanks!

Oddly enough I'm having the same problem right now and going through the same things with my cable company. They were just out this morning and also report everything to be working fine.

I too am using a belkin. It's worked fine for years and now this. =( maybe it's just time for a new one.

you have to remove the router from the equation to see if it's the router or not.

I have removed mine, and then replaced it. Though I've had no problems in the past couple years with this router, I suppose it is possible that it could being having issues now. Though I found it odd that I'm not the only one.

Regardless of whether or not the router was failing, I just placed an order with Newegg for a BUFFALO WHR-HP-G54. I'd love to take the time and troubleshoot with the belkin, but I just don't have the time to go through it all and not know where to start. If the problem persists with the Buffalo, I will then start picking apart both routers I guess until I get to the root of things.

I just got a new router at Best Buy, one of the Buffalo's

So far so good, internet is rocking and rolling!
