Wireless Router Monitoring

I'm trying to determine if I'm losing the wireless signal. I have a wireless camera and it seems to lose its connection every once in a while. Have not been able to determine if it is the wireless router or the camera. Thanks!

Put the camera within few feet to the Wireless Router and let it sit there for a while.

If you do not lose the signal it means that, the signal is to low in the original position and you have to extend the Wireless coverage (one way is by putting a high gain directional Antenna on the Camera, or look here, http://www.ezlan.net/Distance.html )

If it does lose the connection while in close proximity, it means that it due to a problem in the Camera or the Router.

Wireless Cameras move huge amount of traffic that create problems in many Entry Level Routers.

So if your camera can be configured to Ad-Hoc mode try to create an Ad-Hoc connection to a computer with a Wireless card and see if it works.

If it does might be that such a configuration is the solution, if it does not call the Camera manufacturer tech. support.
