WHAT I NEED:
At work, I have an ethernet cable coming out of my ceiling down into my office. Presumably, this comes from the server, since it provides me access to shared network folders.
From there, it goes into an 8-port switch which is used to connect Two (2) PC's and a printer via ethernet cables.
One of those PC's is a Tablet with wireless capability. Somewhere in this equation, I want to add a wireless router in my office which will allow me to get rid of the need for an ethernet cable for the Tablet.
----------------
WHICH OF THESE SCENARIOS SHOULD WORK?
----------------
SCENARIO 1:
Ethernet Cable From Ceiling goes into a Linksys Wireless Router
Port 1 of Linksys Wireless Router connects to Main Port of Switch
Switch provides network access for PC and Printer
Wireless router provides wireless access to the Tablet.
----------------
SCENARIO 2:
Ethernet Cable from ceiling goes into a Linksys Wireless Router. Additional PC and Printer connect to ports in the wireless router. Wireless router provides wireless access to the Tablet. Essentially, this just removes the need for the switch.
----------------

WHAT I HAVE TRIED SO FAR:
I hooked my incoming ethernet cable from the ceiling into a wireless router. I then tried to connect to the wireless router with my tablet and see my shared documents on the network. This was unsuccessful - I was not able to see my files from the network by adding the wireless router between my incoming ethernet and PC. Any ideas why?

Thank you guys SOOOOOO much for your help! I appreciate it greatly!
