Wireless Router Drops Me Whenever Someone Calls

I have D-Link 2.4ghz model number Dl-624 rev. C with the latest firmware (Wireless Router). At my house we have a wireless phone that is also 2.4ghz and whenever someone calls, all the users get disconnected and I have to turn the router off and on to make it work again. Does anybody know how to fix this. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

That does suck! Have you tried changing the channel setting for the router? I know that expensive routers will automatically do this but the cheaper ones don't.

Most wireless routers and 2.4Ghz cordless phones default to channel 6. Try setting your router to channel 11 or channel 1. As long as your phone isn't a spread spectrum phone (and using most or all of the 11 wireless channels at the same time), either of those channels should correct the problem.

I was just toying with mine. Mine defaulted to 6 and it was ok. I went to 11 and got dropped. Mrsskoorb was on the phone next to me, if that made a difference. So I had to go to my desktop to change the channel again and at least so far I'm finding that 5 is really good. I'm getting very good (excellent only if right next to it) with 48 or 54 connection rate.

yep, that's the first thing to do if you have flaky wireless, change the channel
