i have smc 7000awbr wireless router w/ print server.

comp1 is connected w/ wire
comp2 is connected by USR 2210 PCM card w/ PCI adapter (2 feet away from router, always excellent connectino)
comp3 is connected by Netgear MA101 USB adapter. (next room, about 11feet away)

comp3 drops connection from time to time. i've heard about range on wi-fi (w/ walls and etc) and thought my router sucked..

but in comes my mother's centrino notebook, and that thing is online anywhere in the house. downstairs, bathroom, upstairs, and even at my backyard! . signal is always good-excellent.

yesterday, i've hooked my ipaq w/ cf wi-fi card and was surfing in my car infront of my house.

so, how can i explain why the comp3 is always losing connection when other comp (notebook and CF card) is getting good signal at further places from router? could it be USB/PCI adapter works worse than Notebook or CF card?. then which adapter should i look at for me to enable sustained connectino to comp3 and comp4 (further away)

tia :)

what are your walls made out of? steel girters? If neither of them work well, then it's an interference problem of some sort. have you tried changing the frequency channels?
