wireless question

I have a linksys router running tomato right now but I need to get wireless in my desktop upstairs. I didn't want to drill a hole in the floor for a wire so I am going wireless this time. I do gaming so I would like to have as strong a connection as possible.

Do I want to :

A) Use an identical router upstairs to catch the signal

OR

B) Use a wireless pci or usb device to pick up the signal

OR

C) Something I don't know about

Any help would be great. Thanks!

Hmm. That doesn't sound good. Maybe I will stick with wired. How much cable does a signal have to go through before speed loss?

At least 300ft before it even begins to be a problem.
