wireless ps2 mouse on serial communications com port 1

hi guys. basically in a nutshell i bought one of those wireless office desktop packages from a4tech. i have a compaq armada m700 laptop and it has only one ps2 port so i bought a ps2 to serial convertor..now when i connect either my ps2 keyboard or mouse into the port nothing happens..even my wireless rf box dies..do i need a driver or adjust the settings for the com port?? tx for your help! 🙂
