Wireless Problems, Ugh, Really need help!

Hello All,
This is my first post here at the Anandtech forums. Im hoping for your help!
Up until Sunday I was having a nice steady wifi connection to my Linksys WRT54G with my MSI Wifi card in my desktop system. Then all of the sudden it just dropped. Ive limited it down to the card being dead, or the software settings just being messed up. Ive tried hard wiring which Im doing right now, it works fine. To try and get it to work, I have tried the following:

-formatted
-reinstalled drivers, atleast 4 times
-reset modem and router
-unplugged router and modem for like 5 minutes atleast 10 times
-attempted tp re assign the IP with the right click> repair, method
-put my wireless card in a different slot
-restarted my system a gazillion times...

And I am really not sure whats wrong. I really need my computer back in my office, so can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance.

Neil.

what is it doing? is it associating to the network? Is it failing to get an IP?

Wireless problems should start by turning off eveything....SSID on, encrpytion off, no mac filtering, etc.

Sometimes, you just have to give up and get a new card. I have had Microsoft, Linksys, Netgear, and other PCI cards, usb devices, and other wi-fi stuff that either stopped working or was a mess to troubleshoot.

Do yourself a favor and go to OfficeDepot and get the fastest MIMO or N router/card combo that you can afford.

I am using new netgear products right now and it seems to be reliable.
