Wireless problem

I have a wireless network in my house with 3 machines connecting to my router wirelessly. 2 of my machines have no problem connecting to the router wirelessly. The third machine can see the linksys wireless network but can't connect to it. I can't figure out why. My wireless router is set to the default settings and the machine trying to connect is using a belking wireless adapter. Another wierd thing is that the machine that's having the problem is the one that's closest to the router. Any suggestions?
 
Well, since it is so close to the Router, connect it temp. with a cable to make sure that the Network aspects are well and configure correctly. Once it is working switch to the Wireless.

In General you can debug the Network Setting of the computer following these steps.

Step One. Check the Network parameters in the Computer?s Device Manager. Make sure that the drivers are installed correctly; there is No IRQ conflict, and No Ghost installation. http://www.ezlan.net/faq#ghost

Step Two.Verify Basic network setting in the OS: http://www.ezlan.net/Installing#verify
If the above two Steps indicates that every thing looks good but functionally it does not work.

Step Three. Check (and repair if necessary) the Socket Layers, Winsock, and or refresh the TCP/IP Stack. http://www.ezlan.net/clean#refreshnet

1. Manually enter the network name and the encryption on PC with belkin adapter.

2. Set the static IP on PC with belkin adapter, then ping the gateway 'linksys' router.

3. If it times out, then change channel.

4. Lastly, change channel then upgrade firmware on router!
