Wireless Problem..

I just set up a wireless network for my laptop. The only problem is the range, which seems to be pretty pathetic. It works fine when I?m right at the router (NETGEAR WGR614). But when I go into my room (which isn't that far away from the router) I hardly ever get a connection. And there?s no interference that I know of. Is there any easy way that I can increase the range?

Get a Longer CAT5, and put The Router closer to the door or better between the two rooms.

I thought about that, but really can't do it because my other computers aren't using the wireless. The thing I don't understand is, my connection was pretty good yesterday when I set it up. Today though, it won't work unless I'm real close to the computer. What would make it stop working at a location where it use to work?
