Wireless printer server questions

If i have a wireless network that has a wired printer attached via cat5e on a usb printer server, can i print from my wireless laptop to my printer?

So it would go to my router and my router would send the request to the wired printer?
The reason i ask is because ive seen wireless printer servers. Is the only purpose to not have the trouble of running a wire?
