I have set up a wireless network using a Netgear 824M adsl modem with wireless router capability connected to my DSL provider.

I also have a D-Link 713P Wireless router with print server.

I am trying to use just the print server capability of the D-Link. How would I integrate it into my wireless network in this capacity (if it's at all possible)?

Thanks in advance.

hook a computer up to a regular port on the 713. disable and re-enable the network connection on that computer to get an address from the 713.
log in and do the following things:
Disable dhcp.
Assign it a local address that would work with your other router. if the other router is at 192.168.1.1, for example, make the local address on the 713P 192.168.1.2 Make sure you are not stealing another computer's IP though:)
Once you do that, you may lose connectivity to the 713, if it was originally on another class C. No worries.
hook a cable from one of the regular ports on the 713 to one of the regular ports on the other router. Never use the WAN port on the 713 for anything. If either device lists auto mdi/mdi-x in the features, you can use a straight patch cord to do this connection.
If not, you'll need a crossover cable.
hook your computer up to the other router and disable/enable or release/renew your network connection.
now the 713 is on your other network at that address. You can log into it as before. See if you can print to it.

Worked like a charm (luckily had a crossover cable handy)! Thanks a lot skyking.

Now a curve ball. Is it possible to lose the crossover cable and make it a purely wireless print server? I would imagine that the 713P has to be configured to work in client mode to connect to my wireless network but I don't see any such options in the router configuration menus.

it all depends on how the 713P processes the print jobs. Some combo devices have a proprietary system that requires them to be THE gateway; others will work as any old IP on the system. If it is the latter, it will work, so long as you give the 713P an IP address of it's own.
EDIT: sorry about that, I missed the gist. I have no idea if your 713P can be a client device.

Wired suits my needs just as well so your directions were invaluable. Thanks.
