Wireless peripherals: how high is the delay?

Does anyone here know what the exact RF signal delay on wireless mice and keyboards is? I know that most people probably wouldn't be able to notice anything below 150-200ms, but it would have to be 25ms or below for me to consider buying one. So does anyone know?

If it doesn't affect the functionality of the peripheral, who cares? I can play UT with my wireless intellimouse explorer w/o any lag. Sounds good to me.

I have a wireless Logitech trackball. No noticeable lag. Response actually seems faster than my wired trackball. Hm.
BTW, do you realize how HUGE a 150ms lag would be?? That would make the peripheral completely useless.

Beause 95% of those who say there is no lag simply don't know it's there. It's a little hard to understand if you're not a hardcore gamer, but even though something below 100ms can be impossible to detect, something as low as 25ms can impact your score.

Thing is, i've read reviews of the wireless explorer and they siid there IS lag, and that hardcore gamers should stay away from it.

Because Logitech pwnz0rz Microsoft. :)
Seriously what makes you think I'm not a gamer?
My frag count went UP with my new toy. No lag. Really.
Why do you think the new MX700 wireless mouse is so ridiculously popular now? Read some reviews!

I don't know how you can. I _HATE_ mine. The lag is terrible.

I just got the new Microsoft Bluetooth wireless mouse for Christmas. I wonder how it compares to other wireless mice. It works great, I got an explorer first, and had interference problems, it wouldn't recognize 4 out of 5 mouseclicks, I returned it and got the bluetooth, it works like a charm...

Check it out.

Well, it seems that you're only going to believe the reviews of strangers that tell you what you want to hear. :)

Well, I don't know of the exact numbers, by I game with my Logitech Cordless Elite Duo and still get headshots with the sniper rifle like crazy. So I'd say that unless you have an early generation wireless, you're in good shape. Sometimes when I'm typing pretty fast, my keyboard lags a little. But that's okay.

I gotta look into this. I heard there are java applets out there that test out your reflext times. You can get the average time with a corded mouse, and then substract it from the avg amount with a cordless to get some rough delay numbers. Anyone wanna give this a shot?

I don't have any latency issues with either my Logitech Cordless Freedom Optical KB or my MX700. The MX700 is the best wireless mouse available in terms of response times and resolution. Its better than the Optical Mouseman that came with my KB, and I still kicked ass in games, but I'm just that good :)

I ladder in any game I put more than a few hours into (that offers a ladder anyways), most recently would be Warcraft III ( as high as 48 on Azeroth) and SoF2 on QuakeSh1t rankings (#1 for the month of August with over 4000 frags, 70% kill/death ratio) so I would consider myself knowledgeable on the subject. :) All that damage was done on a "crappy" mouse....MX700 is just so much nicer :D
