If you've read my last post you are now laughing at me.

I'm getting a brand new gaming desktop and am now in the market for an internal wireless card. Whats the absolute best one out there? I'm using a Linksys wireless router.

ok go

None, I vote for a usb wireless adapter. Most of the time your tower gets shoved somewhere restricting it's range.

you know you *can* buy an antenna with a length of cable that you can set elsewhere.

And there are good cards out there that come with such an antenna. ;)

There's lots of ways to go here. A USB adapter could be put on the end of a short USB extention cable. PCI should be faster if you can get that external antenna. I thought the cheapest these go for is $35.

I know this isn't what you asked for, but Buffalo has this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833162168 wireless ethernet adapter for $56.99 with a 4 port switch. With this you would have to get two more consoles with ethernet and have a friend over to use all the ports. It looks like a router (4 ports and all) but it's an access point and the reviews say it looks like a wired network (configurationwise) to the computer , xbox, or whatever you're hooking up to. Check it out. It has a 69% excellent rating by users.

If the wireless computer is few feet away from the Router then any PCI with the as is Antenna would do.

If it is away with walls etc. in between you would need to buy PCI and an additional good Antenna with few feet pigtail. Under such a situation

xgsound solution is a very good one, the cost of the Buffalo device is similar to a cost of good PCI + Additional Antenna, however this Wireless Converter is much more flexible and far superior to any PCI card.

Sorry, but if the wireless PC is only a 'few feet' from the router, why are you spending $50.00 on a PCI adapter, hardwire it...
