Wireless NIC problem

So, I just got this Dell Inspiron 600m for my sister. Built in wireless, but it has one problem.

After you wake the machine from sleep, it always connects to the network, but it always gets a Self-Assigned IP address. Repairing sometimes work, but of course that is really anoying.

I tried the latest drivers, but that didnt help

Anyone know anything about this?

Hi,

You did the right thing in updating the NIC driver - given that didn't work I'd investigate the access point/DHCP server that your computer connects to in order to recieve an IP address. Make sure its firmware is up to date.

Good luck,

Andy
