Alright I am very knew to wireless networking, and have a very basic understanding of networking in general. I want to purchase a Linksys wireless router-- BEFW11S4. Now I am going to network 2 pc's, and I know I need at least one of the wireless PCI cards for the second PC (my son's). My question is, do I need one for my (server) pc as well or will this run right off my NIC?

that model has a built-in 4 port switch. just plug your computer into it. it'll work fine.

I've never had a problem with D-Link's wireless gear (i use the AirPlus line), and you can usually get their routers on sale at B&M places every now and then.

Wireless What Should I Get (Early April, 2003 Edition)?

As an example: This Wireless Router will do the same or better, and it is less expensive.

Barricade Turbo 11/22 Mbps Auto Sensing Wireless Cable/DSL Broadband. $49 after rebate.

Yea right...between here and my work...I have all linksys....works great. Here I have a 4port switch wired to my PC and a WAP11 for my roomates PC and my Laptop. At work I have a BEFW11S4 running 3 clients wireless and a WAP11, which is then bridged to the next building that is 2000 feet away to another WAP11 connected to a client. Works like a champ.

SilverThief; You'll be fine with that linksys... :D
