Wireless Networking

Right now I currently have a LinkSys G wireless router. Verizon is going to be coming to install their FiOS soon and they will be installing a wireless router that they supply for free.
I was going to get the wireless Linksys game adapter for my PS2. However my question is can I just bring my current wireless LinkSys router to the PS2 hook it into there and have the router communicate with the one Verizon provides - thus saving me a few bux?

If your Linksys is a WRT54G pre v5, you can flash it with 3rd party firmware to make it be capable to act as Client Wireless (Or WDS). http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=21

Flashed WRT54G would work as a client with an other WRT54.

As far as I know (YMMV), Verizon provides Netgear Wireless with the FIOS.

Would it work with another Brand Wireless? Probably Not.

However, guess what? 😉 It takes only few minutes to try.

Yeah I'm gonna give it a go after they do the install. Your right they are giving a wirless netgear. I'm hopeing I can just plug in and they "see" each other, haha! Wishful thinking!
