Ok, just the other night I went over to a friend's house and set up a Wireless network with an ADSL connection (Bellsouth). Ok, before you rant and rave how wireless sucks, I gotta say that they HAD to have Wireless because they have a pretty old house and the computers are pretty far apart (oh I'd say like 75+ feet apart), plus they don't want me wiring their house (don't wanna screw up walls) and they don't want wires everywhere, so they went to wireless. Everything works as for Internet connection, etc. The problem is that with Zone, they can get into Rooms, Zone Friends, etc ... but they cannot connect to games or host games (noone can connect to them). I already disabled DMZ hosting, and on one machine I turned off the XP firewall. They are using

receiver. The thing that seems REALLY weird to me is that their Local IP (for their Lan) is 192.168.2.1 and not 192.168.1.1 . Their Wan IP does not show the IP that they are connecting to websites with. Their Wan IP is the same for both machines (seems impossible, but it is.. I checked, can't figure it out to save the life of me) and it is 192.168.1.97 . That's for both machines. One machine is running off of Port 2 and the Wireless supposedly is running off of Port 1, but I can't see any connection lights or anything in the front. Can't figure it out to save the life of me. Help!! Hehe =/
Also, for some odd reason on his new machine (he bought it at Best Buy, didn't want to wait for parts, etc.and it is a VPR Matrix that's running off of a 2.8 ghz P4 processor) has Java turned off, and I went through Internet Options through IE and checked it, made sure it was set to on, and then tried other java applications. How can I turn it on?
Thx for your help! =P
Edit/Update:
No, I do not believe that there is a way to specify which port the Wireless adapter "receives" out of. It's just weird, no clue on it. I'm guessing it's the IP Addy for both the LAN and WAN. Inside the admin site for a Linksys router under the Status tab there it should tell you the Lan IP and everything else on the LAN, and then the WAN IP and everything connecting to the WAN. But with his, it is "192.168.2.1" and on mine it is "192.168.1.1" And where it says WAN, usually it tells you the IP that you are using to connect to web pages, etc ... but on his it is "192.168.1.97" on both PCs. It's just odd =/ If there was a way to configure that right, I would do it for him. But you have to keep it as "Obtain IP Address Automatically" and not "Specify" because he's not on a Static Route. As I said before, I changed the Router's LAN IP to "192.168.1.1" and then could not access the internet at all. So I went back and changed it back. Wish I could figure it out ..
