Wireless Networking Questions

Would I notice any sort of a lag on a 1.5mb dsl line if I get a 802.11b router and nic?

Would I notice any sort of reduced connection speed during the winter? (Obviously I would during a thunderstorm, but then I wouldn't have my computer on)

Should I be concerned if I have a set of cordless phones that I'm using in my house?

802.11b is 11mb/sec so your wireless connection (assuming its only you using it) will be much faster than your internet connection.

its also 2.4 ghz and you can switch channels if you run into interference trouble. Weather shouldn't affect it at all.

Hmmm...thanks Dill. I've been fighting a wired network that a moron for an electrician installed, and I've finally reached the "screw it" phase. I think I'm going to go 802.11b and bypass the stupid thing completely.

Well, I just went wifi and it's working pretty well. I'm kind of confused about something, however. Right now my wireless status window is showing that I cannot connect, yet obviously I'm connected. Should I be concerned, or just say "whatever" and go with it?
