I just setup a wireless network at home here, netgear wireless G router and my main pc and my laptop (laptop is wireless main pc is hardwired), also my wifes laptop is on this setup but not sharing anything except the internet.
I want to create a folder for stuff to go back and forth from my main pc to my laptop, so I went into my laptop (running xp home) and picked a folder called Laptop Shared Files, and added it to shared documents.
On the main pc I chose a file folder and right clicked on it (running 2000 pro) and chose share, when I am on the laptop I can see the shared folder from my main pc, but when I am on the main pc I dont/cant see the folder I put into the share with network stuff on the main pc (unless im not looking in the right place or something?).
It is probably simple, but I dont see under my computer anything that looks like that shared file from my laptop, altho the file on the laptop is in my SHARED documents section (so I think I got that part right).
So I am basically half way there, on the main pc the file i marked as share is seen and is accessable on the laptop, but the folder i put into shared on the laptop is not seen by my main pc (unless I am not looking in the right place or something?) I just looked under my computer and didnt see any shared folder by that name (remember my main pc is running win 200 pro not xp like the laptop is).
Anyone?
Probably a very simple problem, im just new to it all,
these shared folders are not important things, mainly pics, mp3s etc, just stuff Id like to be able to zap back and forth or have access to easily.
BTW I did set up my wep too, so it isn't as easy as driving down my street to access my shared folders, but as with anything I am sure they could crack the wep and see the shared folders if they (anyone) really wanted to.
