Wireless Network setup help

I just got cable modem service and purchased a wireless router so I could network it with another PC in my home. I have a D-Link Wireless Broadband Router (2.4ghz DI-614+) and have it connected directly to my PC and the modem connected to it. Okay, my problem... I have an Enhanced 2.4ghz Wireless PCI Adapter (DWL-520+) card for the other PC and have it installed. It installed fine and shows the signal as "good" on the icon in the taskbar. When I open it up, it shows that it is recieving the signal fine, but is not sending anything. I am just dont know how to configure the PC itself, or the card, to get it to talk back to the router. I have tried the various "wizards" for home office set up and all that within XP, but I really dont know what I am doing.

Lets say I just installed the card in the PC.... what do I do next? Please be vague... I am "semi" new to this stuff. After that is working... how would I configure the two PC's so they can see each other on the network? Share a printer and files... that sort of thing?

Thank you, THANK YOU in advance for any and ALL help! I really appreciate it!

Wizard no Good.

Read Manuals and configure manually.

Make sure that card drivers are not configured for Ad-Hoc connection.

Card and Router have to be the same SSID.

Look in the main Wireless menu.

I have gone through the manuals for both the router and the card several times each and havent had any luck. They are designed for "quick setup" so there isnt much detail given, especially for troubleshooting. Also, with XP... I noticed the config utility that comes with the card doesnt work so you have to manually select the options within the settings for the card... and I dont know what all that stuff means. I will check on the Ad-hoc. And SSID... whats that? Newb<----
Thanks for your help!!
