Wireless Network Recommendations, Please

I am starting a new job shortly and will be provided with a laptop computer. Since I will be using this computer at home as well as at work, I would like to set up a wireless network at home so that I can easily access my home desktop and peripherals through the laptop. Although I am currently protected with a software firewall (Norton Internet Security Professional 2004), I would like to enhance the security with firewall protection through a wireless router.

In addition to the desktop (P4 2.53; 1G RDRAM), I have an inkjet printer (HP 1220cxi), a laser printer (purchasing next week) and scanner (Canoscan 8000f) that I would like shared on the network.

Most folks have recommended the Linksys WRT54G (or WRT54GS) Router. What other equipment will I need? Do I need a print server (e.g., Linksys WPS54GU2)?

I appreciate your suggestions for both equipment and set-up.

Regular Scanners are not on Windows Shared hardware.

There is a Remote Scanner Software, it sold for $39.99. So it is your call, you can buy a second inexpensive scanners for this price: RemoteScan? for Personal Use for only $39.99.

You can share a Printer on a Network even if it is attached to one computer the computer has to be On in order to provide the printer to other computers. Otherwise you do need a Printer server.

The Linksys Wireless Router is very popular among people who like Hack.

With a third party Hacked firmware it is very versatile.

Otherwise: Wireless What Should I Get?
