In short, will replacing my DG834Gv2 (wireless G) netgear router with a DGND3300 (wireless N dual band) result in a stronger further reaching signal throughout my flat?
Ive heard wireless N dosent increase signal strength or reach etc, but netgear say it does with their little diagrams and also this is a 4 year old router vs one that isnt even released in the UK yet so... surely theres gotta be some improvement, plus this router can do 5ghz and 2.4ghz simultaniously, not just one or the other. The current problem is when streaming movies to my xbox using this router and the belkin 54G wireless bridge with the living room door closed the movie constantly stops to download, but with the door opened its fine, streams all my movies just fine. So i need something that can push through 2 plasterboard walls, not just 1.5 (the .5 being it gets through but only with the door open) like my current setup. I live in a small 2 bedroom flat.
PS if anyone here has any opinions on that specific router the DGND3300 i would be interested in hearing them, i gather its been out in the US for some time although without USB functionality which is to be added later.
