I got a Dlink wireless network setup at home which i have had for about 2 years already.

i been trying to make it more secure and ofcourse i have WEP on at 128bit encryption and the SSID name has been changed, but if i disable SSID broadcast i can't get a connection.

Now if i setup the wireless computer with SSID turn on it works, if i then disable SSID broadcast the wireless computer still works but once i restart it no longer works.

any ideas?

If you are not using any other Wireless security measures then Disabling SSID might be better than Nothing.

But if you are using MAC and or WEP/WAP any one who can mess around with them will find your Disabled SSID in few minutes.
