main router is the Buffalo, dunno the model # but it's the basic one, PC with the issues has a D-Link PCI card, again sorry I don't have the model # off hand (this is at GF's house)
I installed D-Links software, popped in her WEP info, set her network as the preferred. The PC with the Router is one room over, it can't be more then 40 feet, there is a directly line of sight between the pc's. Her neighbor has a wireless network, not sure much about it except it seems to causes her son's to drop her connection and try to connect to it.
When connected to hers the signal is always excellent, I'm guessing it's something to do with the neighbors because her notebook will also have troubles staying connected. Sometimes when her son's or the notebook drop and try to connect to the other network (which is WEP so it never actually does) I have a bitch of a time getting either to reconnect to hers. This is the 2nd router she's had, same issue. The other router was a D-Link.
any suggestions how to deal with this apparent rouge wireless router the neighbor has? It's a Condo so it's very possible the router they have is directly against the wall just on the other side of his rooms wall.
