I have a wireless (801.11b) home network with 2 desktops and a laptop.I recently replaced my 4 year old 3com cable modem with a Motorola SB5100. Since then my wireless network does not work properly. It is unavailable several times a day randomly. During those times when I check, wireless network is not available and I see the SSID in the preferred networks but not in the available networks window (under wireless settings). On checking the properties of the network(SSID) in the preferred networks, everything seems to be OK including the WEP key.

Also on checking my router (netgear) wireless settings ,everythings looks fine including the SSID, WEP key and MAC access list.

What seems to be the problem ? Any ideas.

does your router offer a 10 or 100Mbit setting for the Wlan connection? some people found their router/AP would disconnect lots if the router was trying to forcefully connect at 100mbit and the cable modem only supported 10mbit.
