wireless network / PCMCIA problem

I've got a wireless network at home using a Netgear hub and a Netgear PC card. Everything works great, I love it. I just bought an Airlink PCMCIA card from Fry's for my laptop but I just can't it to connect to the network. I'm sure that there are settings that I need to tweak on the card to match the properties of the hub but I'm not really sure what to look for. There is a looked configuration utility where I can change some of the settings but I'm not sure what exactly to change.

Can anyone help?

Netgear hub? Without an Access Point that single wireless NIC is useless...unless you buy another radio NIC. You could set up an Ad Hoc network. You'd still need to configure your LAN properly if you wanted to share your internet connection. Based on your wording you'll need an AP or an AP/Router combo.

ktwebb,
You'll have to forgive my ignorance. I'm kind of new to this wireless network thing. Actually what I have is a Netgear wireless router (MR814) with one other computer already on the network and working fine. I'm trying to log on with my laptop using the PCMCIA card that I just bought and, even though I've got the laptop sitting right newt to the router, I can't find the network. I've made sure that SSID value is the same on both the router and the PCMCIA card but I'm not sure what else I can do...

firewalls off? Internet Connection Sharing off? are you sure the SSID is being broadcast? what OS are you using?
