Wireless network. Netgear Router? Internal vs External wireless cards

I've gone through most of the wireless posts on this board and was still wondering.

1) This is the router I will probably get. Netgear
2) Is the only reason to not use a "USB" wireless connector USB due to the inconvenience of it being external, IE on the outside?

Also, are all 802.11b cards compatible, and are certain cards better to get?

I was thinking of getting these in addition to the router

PCI
PCMCIA
and possibly this, in use with an adapter for my laptop CF CARD

dxkj: I have that router, if you have any questions, just PM me. It should work with all 802.11b cars since that is the standard is operates on. Currently, I have two laptops with WiFi, 1 with a Netgear and 1 with a D-Link and they both work fine. The D-Link seems to have a stronger signal but both work fine...
