Wireless Network Issues!

Current Network Setup:

2 PCs both running XP Pro

Router: DI-624 Xtreme G (108Mbps)

Both PCs have DWL-G520

Problem:
Signal strength varies a lot and every now and then the signal drops completely. One PC is in the room adjoining to the one router is in and the other PC is in the same room as the router. Also at times the signal would drop completely from the nearer PC and the network setting in XP would say no wireless network available.

The signal drop happens on the both PCs, though not simultaneously, so its not the LAN cards (unless both are faulty) and usually when one PC connection is down the other one is working so it doesnt appear to be router.

Really confusing since it doesnt appear to be either LAN card related or router related. It doesnt even appear to be distance related either, yet it has to be one of these three unless there is some setting in XP that is causing this!

Any help would be greately appreciated!

PS> Also signal stength varies a lot as well so even though the network connection wont break sometime it will still be very weak which is very odd since both PCs are with 20 feet of the router (one is even under 10 feet with no barriers)!

Try switching to a different channel. Or, perhaps your antenna came loose (my antenna always seem to be loosening itself on a Netgear 54Mbs router).
