Wireless Network Interference

Hi

I have a wireless network consisting of a D-Link DI-711 router which is wired to a Desktop and another desktop with a DWL-120 usb wireless adapter. The wireless router is on the second floor of my house, almost directly above the wireless adapter. Other than the floor, the signal travels through no walls, and it is passing through the floor at about a 10 degree angle.

Anyway, most of the time, I get a fantastic signal, usually between 80 and 95%. But, every so often, it drops to 0 and stays there. I think that it is because of my neighbor's 2.4Ghz phone. I have no 2.4 Ghz stuff in my house and the microwave isn't on at the times of signal loss, so I don't know what else it could be. My neighbor's house (where the phone's base sits) is about 25 feet from where my wireless adapter is.

Could their phone be generating enough interference for me to lose signal completely? If so, is there anything I can do? Are any of the channels (1-11) better than the others? Any help would be appreciated.

I think the main thing is to get some distance between your channel and theirs. If you are now on 6, try 1 or 11.
