Wireless network filesharing requires "Client for Microsoft Networks"?

My laptop currently connects to my wireless router and share files/printers wirelessly with WPA enabled. I notice that the following are enabled/binded from the Wireless card properties:

Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
QoS Packet Scheduler
Internet Protocal (TCP/IP)

I access my desktop computers via the "View workgroup computers" from My Network Places. Are the first two items required to enable filesharing? More importantly, if I use the laptop from a public wifi (i.e. no encryption used), can other people SEE my shared folders from THEIR My Network Places? I currently have ZoneAlarm to put ALL public wifi into the Internet Zone thus disabling sharing. My wireless home network is in the Trusted Zone so sharing is allowed.

If you put the IP range of your LAN in the Trusted Zone and forbid all other IPs, you would protect your Firewall.

However, when you first log to a Hot Spot check the IP, some of them by sheer ""luck"" might use the same range.

I tried to pick a private network range and a subnet that are not used often, but will keep an eye out for it. Maybe I should rephrase my question: If I access a public wifi and ZoneAlarm is set to place that public wifi range into the Internet Zone thereby disabling sharing, would other computers able to see my computer's name appearing on other people's My Network Places when I have all four protocals bounded to the wireless adapter?

Puyting any thing in allowed Zone of any kind does not disable any thing.

Putting only your computers in the LAN Trusted Zone, and blocking any thing else, blocks other computers from accessing your Shares.

Otherwise you have to manulaly disable your shares.
