Wireless Network Crashes from Software

Hi.

I have this very annoying problem that started ever since there was a big thunder storm (maybe it's from that? possible?).
I have a D-Link DI-624+ wireless router, and about 10 seconds after I start BitComet, the wireless network crashes. No Internet. I close BitComet and it remains dead.

Only if I restart the router and it re-connects to the modem there is internet connection again.

Could this be from lightning? Maybe I reseted the modem and now the firewall is on and it makes it crash?

Anyone had this problem?

reflash the router, and also is it connected to a mid to high end surge protector or UPS?

No protection and no UPS...

I'll try to reflash the router.
Reflash meaning deleting the old bios and installing a new one?

no, means overwriting the current with the new one. I think it may have taken a power spike and is damaged, I'd suggest you get anew one and use a good$40-50 surge protector or UPS next time.
