is there any utility that lets me change dns servers easily? the problem is that a lot of networks on campus require you to use their dns servers before you can authenticate... but then once you are on, their dns servers are crappy and i keep on losing my ssh connections.

so, i am wondering if there is some utility that lets me quickly change network settings like dns server like from the systray or something.

thanks!

The DNS servers should have nothing to do with your SSH connections. Once you are connected, the DNS server has already completed the lookup and your computer has the IP address. Its not like it has to continue to lookup the IP while you are connected. There may be a bigger connection issue at the school that makes you lose your SSH connections and why the DNS servers are crappy. If they can't perform the lookups, they aren't going to be much good. If you do think its still the dns servers, why not just setup one as the secondary? Then all your lookups you need for the school will go through the school dns and if you can't get a response from that server for other lookups, it would fallback on the second.
