Wireless Network - All but one computer will connect

My mom's boss had to rearrange his whole computer room, and hired me to help. Once we got everything in place, we decided it would be easier to connect one of the desktops wirelessly than to run a wire around the room. So I installed a PCI wireless networking card, but it won't connect to the network. It sees the network, but just won't connect for some reason. There is no security on the network (they don't have any nearby neighbors). The router is a Linksys, I'm not sure of the model number. He had three laptops there that we tested with, all three were able to connect just fine. The one desktop that is hardwired to the router also works. BTW, the computer is running Win 2000 Pro if that helps.

Thanks

Is the Desktop getting an IP address from the router? What's the default gateway if you do an ipconfig from the Command Prompt on the Windows 2000 machine?
