Hi all,

I am trying to set up a wireless network between 2 PC's using 2 Belkin Wireless Desktop cards so that they can share a DSL Connection. Both machines are running XP, I have installed the hardware and software correctly as far as I know.
I can ping one machine from the other and vice versa, I have configured the firewalls at both ends to allow for this.
Its when I come to the final stage (As far as I know)

Alcatel Speedtouch Connection Properties

Advanced Tab :-

Allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection - Checked
Establish.... Checked
Allow other... Checked

Error :- Cannot Establish Shared Access :- Error 1061 - The Service cannot accept control messages at this time.

The main PC is can access the internet, but the second machine still can't. I have spoke to the tech support twice and they have helped me out a little, but got cut off (Wasn't happy)

Has anyone had any experience with this, perhaps had similiar problems. I am new to setting up networks.

Is there anything in particular which needs checking?

Any help would be much appreciated, as I have spent about 7 hours today trying to set it up.

If i have left anything out, very sorry.

Mark

Hi again,

Well, that proxy program worked, but..... the second PC Internet connection isn't that stable. Sometimes it will be working then it won't :-(

Is this down to the wireless??

Any help would be massively appreciated, as my dad is doing my head in.

Thanks

Mark.

Can any1 help pls?

Has anybody got this set up?

It seems if you reinitialise the network you can continue to browse the web.

Thanks in advance

Put the computers close together if it stable while in close proximity then the trouble stems from Wireless Distance issue.

However as I indicated before Ad-Hoc Wireless + Software NAT is not a good combination.

In addition if your DSL uses PPPOE software it will go bad sooner or later.

There is a reason why the majority of people are using Routers. It is not because they like colored plastic, but coz it is faster and more stable.
