Wireless N & Youtube HD

My internet is 6 mbps down. My wireless N adapter is getting 36 - 72 mbps according to Windows.

Why is Youtube 480p and 720p buffering? My wired computer has no problems.

No, my PC is more than capable of playing back HD flash videos. Ive learned not to go by what Windows is telling me. Didnt do a speed test until just now.

I figured out that the problem is the wireless adapter. Its only doing about 1.5-2 mbps when plugged into my computer. It gets the full 6 mbps (5.5 after overhead) if I use a USB extension cord, but overheats and disconnects when running at full speed.

On a related topic i have just got Wanadoo Wireless broadband, but have an unsightly wireless adaptor hanging out the back of one of my USB ports, my laptop has a WIFI adaptor built in but wanadoo wont help me as its a 3rd party item....help please?

The problem is Youtube, not you!
Just because you have a fast connection that doesn't mean Youtube can send at that speed.
