Wireless mouse

Ok, I have a Logitech MX600 wireless mouse that I got for Christmas. It's been working fine until the last day or so. Now, it's acting sluggish and doing weird things like completely not working for several seconds, minimizing open windows when all I did was click in the open window, and initiating scroll mode when I didn't do anything. The logitech monitor that runs in the system tray says the batteries are good. And, all that's between the mouse and the receiver is a stack of cds and a thin (read cheap) hutch wall. The cds have been there for over a week and haven't posed a problem. Are the batteries in fact getting weak or is the problem something else?

Try replacing the batteries. If you are using batteries that came with the device, they may have sat in the packaging for a long time and may be weak.

Also look for any other wireless devices in the area of your mouse. I found with my older Logitech that leaving my cell phone on my desk would disrupt the mouse.

I use ni/mh rechargeables in it, and I put a freshly charges set in it, but it was still having problems. I also put a dead set of the rechargeables in it, and the systray status said the batteries were critical, just to test the status. My mouse came with a usb extender cable, so I hooked that up and put it within 18" of the mouse, it's doing incredibly better now.
