Wireless Mouse and Keyboard question

Does anyone know if I were to upgrade to a Logitech G7 or a similar cordless mouse by Logitech, if the wireless receiver of the new mouse is compatible with my wireless Logitech keyboard? Or, do I have to use the original wireless receiver for the keyboard and the new one with the new mouse? I like my keyboard, but would like to upgrade the mouse, but do not want to have two receivers for each peripheral.

In addition, does Logitech even produce a G7 mouse/keyboard combo? I haven't seen anything to show that they do.

It depends- I had an MX700 mouse/KB combo receiver which was cross-compatible with my S510 mouse/KB. In other words, I was able to use the receiver for the MX700 combo to control my MX700 mouse and the S510 KB, as I did not like the KB that came with the MX700 package nor did I like the mouse that came with the S510, and did not want two receivers. You may not be able to use the full features of the driver set for the device running on the non-native receiver if you go this route.

Have not seen any G7 desktop sets to date.
