Wireless MiniPCI Install problem

I have an annoying little problem. I used to have an Intel 2200BG MiniPCI card that I have installed in my Dell Inspiron 8200, which has a built in internal wireless antenna. The 2200BG has been giving me some trouble, so I replaced it with an Atheros card... but when I went in to do the install... I found that the wire does not reach the "main" antenna connector on the new card! I still need about half an inch worth of wire before I reach the plug..

what do I do? I don't want to take apart the laptop just to move the wire half an inch.... is there an extension(??) that I can buy?

buying an extension would cause you more grief then good. Anytime you add a connector, you also add attenuation (aka signal loss)
