The only place I'm ever gonna use a wireless mouse is in a carputer - for maintinence purposes, and on HTPCs.

They have no place on a desktop computer because - face it - there's room for the fscking wire, and recharging batteries sucks.

It takes like 2 hours for a full charge. I occasionally sleep so this isn't really a problem for me. :D

Besides, I haven't had the batteries go dead once since I've been using mine.

You just put the thing in it's cradle whenever you're not using it.

Yep exactly. Plus I thought it was only like 10 minutes after the first full charge to recharge the batteries. The mx700 is one of the best mice I've ever used, wireless or wired.

i think for gaming,
I'd still stick to the old reliable wired optical mouse,

but for surfing, or working on assignments,
the cordless is pretty cool and great to use.

I gave away a cordless elite duo, because much as I wanted that keyboard, I wasn't willing to give up my mouse.. the one that's like the mx700, only wired.. 500, I guess.. I like everything about this mouse, once I found something to sit it on that it got along with.. it didn't like any of the mousepads I had, and it didn't like just sitting on the shelf, but it's quite happy with this 1997 appointment calendar I found in a drawer.. so.. I want that duo that comes with the mx700..... but haven't convinced myself I NEED it.. yet.. ah.. but I do want that fancy keyboard..

People still use mouses with cords? :Q

Seriously, I've never noticed any lag on any of the wireless mouses I've used. I couldn't live without cordless, I have the computer hooked on the TV and I would need to get up and go to the computer desk every time I needed to change the Simpsons episode :)

MX700 is the only decent wireless mouse around, buddy.

Umm, no.

Name a wireless mouse that can perform as well as the MX700 and I'll be glad to take back my statement.
Other wireless mice may not be able to match the MX700 performance, but that does not mean they are not decent.
The original poster was complaining of lag, and when it comes to lag, if you can notice it, it's not decent. :p

So you are saying that all other wireless mice have noticeable lag?

WRONG.
Which one doesn't?

I have no problems with my MX700.

Never noticed any lag. Never ran outta juice.

I wouldn't buy a different cordless mouse.

MX500, mx engine, never skipped on me once (my old dual optical logitech skipped on certain surfaces), plus ll the cool buttons.

The weight of the MX700 bothered me so I went with the 500
