This is something i had looked into some time ago, but gave up the idea when i discovered the antennas cost approx $599 each! BobDole from Arstechnica has given me new hope however. He's built his own antennas for about $20-$30 each.

Total cost of project he said was around $550, but he spent a little more than he had to figuring things out. He's gotten it to go 2.5 miles with good speeds even with poor RLOS.

Just thought some of you may be interested in this as well.

that's odd... i've seen various antenna for the cisco aironet series for $30-$40...

I know the wireless bridge has a range of 18 miles... but I think you need a high-gain antenna to get that range.

can u link that for me? Like i said, this is something i looked into almost 2 years ago... haven't research much since so obviously a lot has changed.
