Hey! Thanks in advanced...I need a quick answer. ;)

I'm looking at the Logitech Elite Duo, and maybe even one of the lesser ones, but does anyone have any real world use with any kind of combo? Even the Microsoft Wireless Optical combo. I need something for my brother. He'll be using his PC on his TV and his couch will be about 14-16 feet away. I have a feeling he may only be able to use the Bluetooth selection from M$! Yikes! Too too much!

the reciever pod has a cable of atleast 6 feet. so if u put that pod somewhere between.. u cut the distance. i'd go for the newest mx series cordless.

logitech wont cut it. I have setup 2 systems like you're talking about and am working on another.
MS bluetooth will go through walls better and do it about 30 ft.
the next project I am doing I am planning on using this:

it's supposed to ahve a 100 ft range. the mouse is gyroscopically controlled and the whole thing is cheaper than bluetooth

Thanks guys! mcveigh. That Gyration thing is interesting. Do you use the mouse in the air like that picture kind of alludes to? or is it a normal mouse? I dunno how'd he'd like that.

However, this is much to my dismay. We were hoping to set him for around $100 including a videocard with TV out (his Vaio has onboard GF2MX). This may put us in the $140-180 range depending if he wants to go bluetooth or not. He has the money but wants to use it for other purposes. Thanks a lot.

BTW, that MX series isn't out just yet, is it?

I use a intel wireless kb/mouse I got from ebay for $20+ship..

It uses 900mhz technology, and the range is amazing (I use it from 15ft away, and I've been able to use it 30+feet away)

The only bad thing is: the mouse doesn't seem to have a battery saving mode when you are not using it, so I just remove 1 of the batteries to prevent them from getting drained..

Eeek. That sounds like a bummer...I dunno if he wants to have to worry about something as silly as that. But thanks for the imput. Do you have any links that I could look at that? Thanks!
