Hey all,

My has a logitech wireless keyboard and mouse that is loosing range at about 4-5 feet. He is a home theater designer/installer and is trying to get it to work about 10-15 feet from the computer.

The 4-5 foot range seems short... is there anyway to extend the range or any keyboard/mouse combos that work well.

I think there might be an interference issue as all the components in the theater are run on RF as well. Maybe possible I don't know? if so, any solution?

He has this now.

Normal desktop gear is deliberately kept to short range, so you can have multiple units in close proximity - like in offices.

There are 'long range' models around, and if it's a Bluetooth unit, then the interference problem is properly solved whilst maintaining a good range.

Is there a way to extend the range?

Yes - put the USB recvr/Xmttr unit on a USB extenstion cable. That can get you about 3 ft. farther.

BTW - Bluetooth range is about 30 feet!

And this one touts 33 feet . . .

Bluetooth 2.0 has a choice of two range classes - 10 and 100 meters. Mobile (and other battery powered) equipment typically does 10 meters.
