Wireless kb/mouse & Bluetooth USB adaptors installed inside case

I have a wireless mouse/keyboard, and may soon add a bluetooth device. Both have USB wireless transmitter/receivers. Is there any reason I could not put these inside of a my metal mid-tower? Maybe turn a 3.5" USB front panel inwards for an internal hub and pluged into a USB header & internal power. I'd really like to keep my case exterior free from unnecessary cabling and such, and seems like these wireless devices should be internal anyway.

I was wondering this myself also why are bluetooth devices for desktops not available as a PCI card (i.e. Bluetooth PCI card instead of USB) I suspect howeever that this is due to the concept that the signal quality would be poor if the antenna was inside the case due to interference and also being inside a metal box more or less.

but for laptops they are inside the case.. while it is a smaller case I would think it would not be too different... I always wondered why they did not add one into a multicard reader to combine two things into one and take up less room

These devices operate on low power radio waves. As long as you don't get to far from the case it should work ok.

Yeah but most laptops are more plastic then metal, since they are all weight conscious (for the most part)

i tried to put the reciever for my mx duo into my shuttle pc, but when i closed it, it lost connection. i messed around with it for a while but never got it to work. good luck to you though.
