So, to maintain decent speeds on my wireless connection I need to disconnect and reconnect from it at certain times. I've been having this problem for a while now, it doesn't seem based on any activity, time of the day, etc. It just happens randomly but rather frequently. I'm on the Tomato 1.23 firmware on a WRT54GL. The channel I'm on doesn't seem to effect it and I can't think of anything around the house that would be causing interference at 2.4ghz (I'm using wireless-g). This has continued to happen from Vista to Windows 7.

Any help would be appreciated!

Can you be more specific? You're dropping from 54 Mbps to 36? 24? what?

There are usually lots of devices that can interfere with a 2.4 GHz signal: microwaves, cordless phones, etc, etc.

You wouldn't happen to be downloading / seeding torrents in the background would you?
