Wireless is so slow

Bring the router close to you...that solves the problem. I'm a wireless user, it's going strong baby. Lol man, fussing about on having 456 kb? damn, i'm just happy if I got only 180 Kbps.
 
Fix the wired connection, it's really not that hard. The only reason you ever need an electrician is when you're rewiring the house and don't feel like punching holes in your own wall and crawling all over the place.
 
I put my network on wireless and promptly switched back. Too latent and slow even with a system sitting within 2' of the router.
Wired>wireless, true story.
