I am looking for some information about wireless internet.
At the moment I have 2 modems that dial up to the internet (1mb connection) these modems can only be connected one at a time.
I also have a wired LAN with a 5 port D-Link switch.
What I want to do is replace the two modems with a wireless router (I think that is what it called?) this would then allow me to use my 6 computers at once with out having to connect the modem(s) to each computer.
I live in the UK and cannot recieve cable but can recieve internet via the telephone cable Example of a RJ-11 connector (This connection goes in the back of my modem NOT RJ-45 though). I would like to use wireless 802.11g and only use it for internet access and NOT file transfer as I have a LAN set up for that.
So these are the parts I think I need??
Wireless Router link
USB Wireless Adpater G link *2 (becuase of two SFF's and I have run out of PCI slots)
PCI Wireless Adapter G link *4 (for the rest of the computers)
Is this right?
I also would like to know how do I set the wireless network to recieve internet only??
