It's the router. They also sell standalone WAPs. I built one since I didn't want to spend money on something I could make. 😉

now why would anyone want to build an access point themselves, when they can get a router or WAP for $8 after rebate?

man still loving this freedom. I'm in bed, watching tv and surfing the net. Ok. End of my happy 'rant'. I will stop expressing my love of wireless internet publicly now. hehehe.

Because I could make one for the price of a wireless card (of which I have several lying around).

EDIT: Also when I built it they were more expensive, and I hate MIRs.
 
Ok, i am all confused now. What's the difference between wireless router and WAP? If I have wireless router do I still need WAP?
