Is it possible to take a wireless internet connection and share that out via a NIC card or even an additional wireless usb adapter on a computer.

I think that it can be done the other way around using local ethernet connected lan and shared using wireless usb but how about using wireless.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

My neighbor and I are sharing a wireless internet connection. However, the signal only reaches one room in my house, a desktop computer with wireless pci adapter. I was wondering if I could use internet connection sharing or some other way to share out the internet via the lan card to another computer. Or even use an additional usb wireless adapter connected to the desktop to share the wireless internet to other computers in the house. My goal is to use existing equipment to accomplish this and without us having to puchase additional equipment. Can this be done?

You need a bridge, which converts a wireless signal into a eithernet signal. While you can fork over about $100+ for one, your desktop system can become one. All you need to do is to share your wireless connection as the main internet connection, and just run a cable into a switch from your ethernet connection on that system. As long as your desktop pc is on, any pc plugged into that switch will share the wireless connection. You might even be able to extend the wireless range by plugging in a wireless access point(different from a bridge) into that switch.
